Cochrane Complementary Medicine Switzerland (Complementary and Integrative Digital Health, Institute of Primary Care – University of Zurich and University Hospital Zurich) has developed the first core outcome set for trials of complementary therapies in people with multiple sclerosis.

The set aims to help researchers select outcomes that matter to people with multiple sclerosis and improve consistency across future trials.

Developed within the PEMS project (Participatory Evidence Synthesis in Multiple Sclerosis and Complementary Therapies), the study combined a scoping review, an international survey involving 770 participants, and two consensus meetings. People with multiple sclerosis, relatives and friends, healthcare professionals, and researchers contributed to identifying 30 outcomes across 10 domains.
